The inaugural Murray Auto Xtravaganza, (MAX Pinjarra), was the brainchild of (then) Murray Shire President, and keen hot rodder, Mr Noel Nancarrow.
Noel’s desire was to create an event that would highlight the wonderful attractions of the Murray Shire, and build to be an iconic event for the region.
Held on the lush green football ground of Sir Ross McLarty Oval in Pinjarra, MAX Pinjarra attracts over 250 entrants from all parts of the Metro area, and from around the Southwest.
MAX Pinjarra has something for everyone, there is a wide range of vehicles to look at, from custom classics, hot rods, street machines and motorbikes, to vintage tractors, racing tractors and drag racing cars. We pride ourselves on the fact we look after the kids with plenty of kids entertainment, from face painting and pony rides to petting zoos and bouncy castles, we make sure the kids are having a good time.
The horsepower competition on the Dyno is fierce, and the sound of high revving engines makes it a very popular part of the show.
The whole family will be kept entertained with, kids activities, market and trade stalls and plenty of refreshments available. The town centre is only a 10 minute walk away and we provide a shuttle bus to ferry people into town and take in some of the attractions, or maybe just sit and have a coffee.
A decision was made in 2012 to run the event on THE FIRST SUNDAY OF APRIL, this is so you can remember when each event is. So put it in your diary, and make sure you are at MAX Pinjarra.
